Major Electronic Manufacturers and Hollywood have Already Begun the Shift Toward 3D for the Home and SENSIO is Ready to Answer this Emerging Market!

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - April 25, 2007) - SENSIO Technologies Inc. ("SENSIO") (TSX VENTURE:SIO), the inventor of the SENSIO® 3D technology, is currently on its biggest promotional tour in Korea and Japan. SENSIO continues its efforts to be recognized as the standard 3D format, and with that in mind has a two-week schedule filled with prestigious meetings with some of the world's biggest electronic manufacturers. This Asian journey is a result of the extremely positive manufacturer response to the SENSIO® 3D technology at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas last January, as SENSIO offers an exclusive technology that allows bridging of the 2D and 3D worlds.

The emergence of 3D in Hollywood

Well renowned Medias such as BBC, Los Angeles Times and Financial Times headlines are stating it: upcoming movie releases will be in 3D. They generate two to three times more revenues in theaters and spectator demand is on the rise. In the US, movie theaters equipped with 3D projection systems have been multiplying at an incredible rate lately accordingly from Screen Digest Industry Analyst data published by the Financial Times on March 26th. From the same source, there are now over 700 3D theaters and it is expected that this number will reach 3,000 by 2009. Major Hollywood studios have adopted this format, such as DreamWorks Animation, which recently announced in their March 23rd press release that all its animation movies would be released in 3D as of 2009. Several major recent productions or productions scheduled to be released within the next 2 years have opted for 3D, such as Disney's Meet the Robinsons, Robert Zemeckis' Beowulf (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump), Journey 3-D and James Cameron's Avatar (Titanic).

3D digital theaters can also present events shot and aired in 3D, such as the all stars game of the National Basketball Association (NBA) last February. Through major ongoing productions and strong interest for 3D live events, Hollywood and the event production community are sending clear signals to electronic device manufacturers. On the one hand, 3D is definitely the format of the future, and on the other hand, regular production of quality 3D content is to be expected.

Manufacturers are 3D-ready

The electronic industry is already seizing the opportunities of the new Hollywood 3D trend, which has been the topic of studies and conferences by major stakeholders such as the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and Insight Media.

During the CES in Las Vegas last January, several electronic giants such as Samsung, JVC, LG and Syntax-Brillan were concrete proof of this as they unveiled their 3D television prototypes. These television sets allow 3D display similar to the best theater experiences. However, like HD televisions, these new sets require a format and a distribution infrastructure that can feed 3D content such as movies, series, shows or sports events.

SENSIO: Bridging Hollywood and manufacturers

This is where SENSIO comes in, offering a technology able to broadcast 3D through any global 2D existing infrastructure. Its universal video output allows anyone with an audio-video device with SENSIO® 3D technology to watch 3D content at home on any type of existing and future screen.

"This strategic period is very exciting for us", explains Nicholas Routhier, SENSIO'S president and CEO. "Eight years of efforts, development and lobbying are finally paying off with the industry's response." In fact, the SENSIO® 3D technology offers now a cutting-edge solution that can bring 3D movies to the new television sets developed by manufacturers to broadcast 3D, thus creating a bridge between Asia and Hollywood.
