Major Japanese Retailer, Famima!! Expands Into American Market: Famima to Launch 3rd of 20+ Specialty Stores, Friday, March 10th, in Santa Monica

TORRANCE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- February 21, 2006 -- FAMIMA Corporation, a subsidiary of global Fortune 500 company FamilyMart Co., Ltd., today announced plans to launch the 3rd of twenty +, high-end specialty stores in the Los Angles area in 2006, as part of its major American roll-out. On Friday, March 10th, the major Japanese retailer will hold the Grand Opening for its "landmark store" at 1348 Third Street Promenade at Santa Monica's acclaimed, pedestrian hot-spot. As one of the most popular destinations for dining and shopping, the Third Street Promenade store is expected to be a key location for FAMIMA's expansion into the L.A. and American market.

Last July, FAMIMA opened its first store at 8525 Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood and in December, its second store at1465 Westwood Boulevard in Westwood. This year, FAMIMA plans to open 20 or more stores in the L.A. area with stores to open soon in Torrance, Hollywood, Glendale, Downtown L.A., Long Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Pasadena. By 2009, FAMIMA plans have 250 stores operating in America.
