Make-A-Wish(R) Rope for Hope is Back

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 1, 2014) - In 2014, we have expanded from two to eight sites! From May through July 2014, individuals in six additional Canadian cities will now have the opportunity to rappel down a large city skyscraper in their area as part of Make-A-Wish^® Rope for Hope, Make-A-Wish^® Canada's national signature fundraising event.

Along with Halifax and Toronto, Rope for Hope will also take place in: Montreal, Ottawa, London, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver this year. Rope for Hope is a unique challenge event that calls on participants to fundraise a minimum of $1,500 in support of local wish-granting efforts, in exchange for a once-in-a-lifetime experience to rappel down the side of a well-known city building.

"Expanding our Rope for Hope event to eight sites this year will allow more people to participate, helping us bolster support for our vital wish-granting mission," said Jennifer Ritter, CEO, Make-A-Wish Canada. "Having rappelled down Toronto City Hall, I can truly say that Rope for Hope is such an exhilarating personal challenge. Even better, the funds raised are going to benefit so many children with life-threatening medical conditions from coast to coast."

Rope for Hope has raised more than $400,000 since 2012 when it first launched in Toronto. With the introduction of six more locations, Make-A-Wish^® has set a $1 million goal for 2014.

There are a variety of ways to participate: as an individual, in a team, as part of a 'toss your boss' group or by sponsoring another participant or the event.
