Make-A-Wish® Sends Team of 25 Wish Kids to WrestleMania® 31

Wish Kids Travel to Silicon Valley for WWE®'s Annual Pop-Culture Extravaganza

PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwired - March 19, 2015) - On Sunday, March 29, millions of WWE® fans around the world will watch their favorite WWE Superstars and Divas during WrestleMania® 31 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. In the midst of the excitement, 25 wish kids and their families will get to experience the annual event firsthand. Make-A-Wish®, through the help of WWE, has planned an unforgettable weekend packed with activities for the loyal fans.

The excitement begins Thursday, March 26, when wish kids and their families from across the country converge on Santa Clara in Silicon Valley. In addition to attending the main event on Sunday, the wish kids will have exclusive opportunities to meet WWE Superstars and Divas, including a private autograph session and tickets to the biggest fan event of the year, WrestleMania Axxess.

The wish kids and their families will also have free time to explore Silicon Valley and attend a pizza party at the Tech Museum of Innovation.

With 25 wish kids attending this year, WrestleMania continues to be one of the largest wish granting endeavors each year; though support from WWE occurs year round. WWE regularly helps grant wishes by donating tickets to WWE events nationwide and coordinating meet and greets with WWE talent -- who remain some of the most requested celebrities each year by wish kids. In addition, since becoming a national sponsor in 2008, WWE has contributed more than $2.5 million to Make-A-Wish.

"Many wish kids enjoy watching their favorite WWE Superstars and Divas because it makes them feel confident and empowered as they battle a life-threatening medical condition," said David Williams, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America. "Watching WWE is a unique experience that entertains wish kids while simultaneously inspiring them. We know they are looking forward to an action-packed weekend."

WWE has been involved in wish granting since the early 1980s, beginning shortly after the founding of Make-A-Wish. The popularity of WWE has endured throughout the years with a total wish count numbering in the thousands. Since 2001, more than 45 Superstars and Divas have individually been requested, and subsequently, granted a wish.

About Make-A-Wish®
Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. According to a 2011 U.S. study of wish impact, most health professionals surveyed believe a wish-come-true has positive impacts on the health of children. Kids say wishes give them renewed strength to fight their illness, and their parents say these experiences help strengthen the entire family. Headquartered in Phoenix, Make-A-Wish is one of the world's leading children's charities, serving children in every community in the United States and its territories. With the help of generous donors and more than 27,000 volunteers, Make-A-Wish grants a wish somewhere in the country every 37 minutes. It has granted more than 254,000 wishes since its inception in 1980; more than 14,200 in 2014 alone. Visit Make-A-Wish at to learn more.
