MAKE THE ROCKET YOUR FIRST RIDE ON CNE OPENING DAY

Attention: Arts/Entertainment Editor, Assignment Editor, City Editor, News Editor, Transportation Editor TORONTO ON--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 15, 2006) - The TTC will have extra buses and streetcars on all routes heading to the Canadian National Exhibition. These are the "EX"tra services that will be running for the duration of the CNE, starting on Friday, August 18:

BUSES

193 Exhibition Rocket (ACCESSIBLE)
* From Dundas West Station to Dufferin Gate
Rocket buses will be running non-stop about every few minutes. This express service will be served primarily by new, low-floor buses equipped with a flip-ramp and kneeling feature. These buses can be identified by blue lights on either side of the front destination sign, and the blue international wheelchair symbol displayed on the front right bumper next to the entrance door. All fully accessible buses include two wheelchair/scooter positions. Trip duration: about 12 minutes.

29 Dufferin (ACCESSIBLE)
* From Dufferin Station to Dufferin Gate
Southbound buses to the Ex will be running about every few minutes. This route will served primarily by accessible, bike rack-equipped buses. Trip duration: about 15 minutes.

STREETCARS

511 BATHURST
* From Bathurst Station to Exhibition Loop inside Princes' Gate (behind the Coliseum)
Streetcars will be running about every few minutes. Trip duration: about 20 minutes.

509 HARBOURFRONT
* From Union Station to Exhibition Loop inside Princes' Gate (behind the Coliseum)
Streetcars will be running about every few minutes. Trip duration: about 20 minutes.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Unlike the CNE's major rides, there are no height restrictions to ride the TTC rocket!

ZIP, TILT OR ZOOM YOUR WAY TO THE EX WITH A DAY PASS! Don't forget to take advantage of the TTC Day Pass, which is good on Saturday or Sunday or statutory holidays! For just $8.50 per day, a group of up to six people (maximum two adults over the age of 19) can enjoy unlimited travel all day.

Free commuter parking on weekends and holidays is available at 16 subway stations right across the system. Park your car and ride the subway - train service on weekends runs about every five minutes.
