Maker Faire Bay Area 2016 -- May 21 & 22: Resources For Planning a Fantastic Experience

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - May 18, 2016) - Maker Faire Bay Area 2016, the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth, is taking place this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, May 21 & 22, at the San Mateo Event Center in San Mateo, CA. Maker Faire Bay Area is the largest gathering of makers in the U.S. Tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, engineers, scientists, students, authors, artists, and corporations come together to share their innovations, projects, inventions, hobbies, and more, to thousands of aspiring makers from all ages and skill levels.

First and foremost, attendees should determine how they're getting to Maker Faire Bay Area 2016. There is no parking at the San Mateo Event Center during Maker Faire. Deciding in advance how to get to the Faire will maximize attendees' time at the event, and help with reducing traffic and delays. Public transportation, such as BART, Caltrain, and SamTrans, is the preferred method for getting to the Faire. Carpooling, Uber, Lyft, and rideshare services as well as biking to the Faire are also great options. All transportation options can be found here:

With over 1,300 Makers to meet, many performances and attractions to see, and 200+ presentations to hear, it's also important to plan ahead to ensure a fantastic experience. The following resources are available to all Faire goers, including the Official Mobile App of Maker Faire Bay Area 2016, which provides instance access to all of this information:

Storage lockers will be available again for attendees to use for a nominal, daily fee and store their belongings on-site in a safe location. Over 200 lockers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The locker area will also have a mobile device charging station for a small fee.

Weekend tickets are on sale for Maker Faire Bay Area 2016 at advance pricing through Friday, May 20; general admission tickets for FRIDAY@MakerFaire are available through Thursday, May 19. Weekend Passes at advance pricing are $40.00-$65.00; Single Day Passes at advance pricing are $25.00-35.00. All tickets are available at General Admission FRIDAY@MakerFaire, Friday, May 20, are $75.00 for adults and $35.00 for students. Weekend tickets can also be purchased on-site at Maker Faire Bay Area 2016 on May 21 & 22, 2016. Weekend Passes at the door are $50.00-$80.00; Single Day Passes at the door are $30.00-45.00.
