Maker Faire -- Call for Makers Is Open -- 6th Annual Maker Faire Bay Area Festival

Calling All Makers!

SEBASTOPOL, CA--(Marketwire - February 10, 2011) -  Maker Faire, the World's premiere DIY (Do-It-Yourself) event, Opens the Call for Makers to its 6th Annual Bay Area festival being held, May 21st and 22nd, 2011 at the San Mateo County Event Center.

Call for Makers Maker Faire Bay Area 2011
Produced by the folks who bring you MAKE Magazine, Maker Faire celebrates things people create themselves -- from rockets and robots, to DIY science and technology, to sustainable foods and upcycled clothes. 

Maker Faire invites Makers to submit projects for this years 6th annual festival. More than 600 Makers and Maker organizations will participate and showcase their projects. The festival is expected to draw 95,000 attendees from across the state, the country, and beyond.

Who:

The first step to participating in Maker Faire is to submit an entry that tells us about yourself and your project. Entries can be submitted from individuals as well as from groups such as hobbyist clubs, schools and organizations. Please provide a short description of what you make and what you will actually bring to Maker Faire. Please link to a photograph or video of what you make. We particularly encourage exhibits that are interactive and that highlight the process of making things.

If you are a crafter, and your primary interest is to sell your goods at Maker Faire, you should consider applying to Bazaar Bizarre. Please check out their website for the latest details. Bazaar Bizarre applications for Maker Faire will start being accepted late February 2011.
