Google Continues Its Support of World Maker Faire New York, Joining as Goldsmith Sponsor
Google has joined forces again with Maker Faire to continue its support of the Maker Movement by returning as a Goldsmith Sponsor at World Maker Faire New York 2016. Making is a key thread in the fabric of Google's corporate DNA, so their presence this year will showcase cool projects from Makers at Google, including a life-sized interactive Google Doodle that's powered by Science Journal, a new Android app that helps you use the sensors on your phone with external triggers to explore, measure, and learn about the world around you.
Google can also be found at the always popular "Learn to Solder" tent, where Makers of all ages can learn or improve their soldering skills. Attendees participating in this hands-on activity will make their own light-up pin as well as pick up a pair of safety glasses for use with the activity and to take home with them. Google has distributed hundreds of thousands of pairs of safety glasses to Maker Faire attendees over the last few years. The safety glasses for World Maker Faire New York 2016 feature a colorful new design.
