Making Way for a Variety of Concerts in Estrie

Government of Canada supports the Festival Saint-Zenon-de-Piopolis


MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - April 8, 2015) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Honourable Christian Paradis, Minister of International Development, Minister for La Francophonie and Member of Parliament (Mégantic-L'Érable), today announced $20,000 in funding over two years for the Festival Saint-Zénon-de-Piopolis ($10,000 for 2015-16, and $10,000 for 2016-17). Minister Paradis made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

This funding, provided by the Government of Canada through the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, will help the Festival Saint-Zénon-de-Piopolis offer an original and diverse lineup featuring classical, jazz, folk and pop music.

  • The Comité culturel de Piopolis presents eight concerts of various types annually, two of them with commentary (including discussions between artists and the audience).
  • The Festival also has audience development activities to encourage children to participate.
  • Festival activities will take place at the Église Saint-Zénon-de-Piopolis and at Halte des Zouaves (outdoor site).
