Malaysian Wastewater Treatment Specialist Ronser Bio-Tech Wins 2015 Frost & Sullivan Wastewater Treatment Entrepreneurial Company of the Year

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA--(Marketwired - Apr 22, 2015) - Frost & Sullivan has named Malaysia-based Ronser Bio-Tech Bhd ("Ronser") the 2015 Wastewater Treatment Entrepreneurial Company of the Year, recognising its exemplary multi-disciplinary environmental services in wastewater treatment.

The 2015 Frost & Sullivan Malaysia Excellence Awards -- the eleventh consecutive annual edition -- recognises companies and individuals with outstanding achievements in healthcare, business and financial services, electronics and security, and energy and power systems.

Ronser, a comprehensive provider of wastewater treatment services, emerged top for its entrepreneurial innovation and customer impact and is now providing waste management solutions to Iskandar Regional Development Authority.

The latest Frost & Sullivan report on the Malaysia Wastewater Treatment Market also singled out Ronser as one of the leading players of the reactor-based Expanded Granular Sludge Bed ("EGSB") technology. EGSB removes biodegradable organic and suspended solids using high velocity water pumped upwards through a sludge bed, a by-product of wastewater. Ronser implemented this technology successfully in its palm oil mill effluent ("POME") zero discharge pilot plant in Labu, Negeri Sembilan since year 2011.

"Rapid industrialisation and urbanisation in Malaysia drives demand for better and more efficient wastewater treatment solutions and infrastructure. Ronser Bio-Tech is an emerging solutions provider in the competitive industrial wastewater treatment market. Through its proprietary technologies, it provides the industries with much needed comprehensive solutions to treat high organic wastewater. Ronser's notable systems include AnaEG, BioAX, and MBS that provide efficient solutions and space saving advantages," said Jonathan Leong, Research Analyst, Global Best Practices at Frost & Sullivan.

Ronser is currently in partnership with Shanghai Jai Tong University to develop a new sewerage technology for the treatment of sewerage using micro belt filter, magnetic powder or MP flocculation, BioAX and Mass Bio system (MBS), which allows for the reuse of treated water. Ronser's technology only requires a 40-feet container to accommodate a 240 tonnes of water/day for modification of a plant.

During the awards ceremony, Ms Woo Min Fong, Chairman of Ronser, also announced that Professor Zhang Zhenjia had secured, in March 2015, a tender award for 20,000 tonnes sewerage treatment plant, using technologies exclusive to Ronser, which is expected to be completed in August 2015.
