Malibu Family Wines Hosts Seventh Annual Harvest & Crush Event Benefiting City Hearts: Kids Say 'Yes' to the Arts

Enjoy an Eventful and Charitable Sunday at the Largest Working Ranch in Los Angeles County

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - September 12, 2007) - Malibu Family Wines, producer of Semler and Saddlerock Wines, will host its Seventh Annual Harvest & Crush Event on Sunday, October 7, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the rambling Saddlerock Ranch in Malibu, CA. This special event is a fundraiser to benefit City Hearts: Kids Say "Yes" to the Arts, the internationally recognized 22-year-old non-profit organization that provides critical intervention and transformation through the arts to the at-greatest-risk children in Los Angeles and Ventura counties, with the goals of broadening their opportunities and encouraging them to be productive, creative and caring members of society.

Wines produced by Malibu Family Wines will be presented for tasting and guests can enjoy samples of signature dishes donated and served by local restaurants, including Bogie's at the Westlake Village Inn, Café 14, Duke's Malibu, Fin's, Geoffrey's Malibu, Il Tiramisu, Mediterraneo, MOZ Buddha Lounge, Saddle Peak Lodge, Sam's by the Beach, Terra, The Melting Pot, and Zin Bistro Americana.

"Lisa and Ron Semler and the Malibu Family Wines team have demonstrated their commitment to helping the community through their generous donation of time and resources to make this event possible," says the organization's co-founder Sherry Jason. "Last year, more than 600 people attended the Harvest & Crush Event. We anticipate an even greater turnout this year, and as people enjoy the truly unique setting, wine and delicious food, they will be helping to provide vital services to our community's most impoverished and needy children."

Guests will have the opportunity to participate in the unique "barefoot grape crush." For the children, this fabulous event will include face paintings, a MoonBounce, a hot dog cart and Dandy Don's Homemade Ice Cream, which the adults can enjoy too. There will also be a silent auction of luxury items, including a stay at the Calistoga Ranch Resort in Napa Valley. As the Harvest & Crush event is taking place, guests can explore the grounds of the Saddlerock Ranch, which is the largest working ranch in Los Angeles County and home to exotic animals, including zebras, buffalo, camels, macaws, Scottish highland cattle and llamas.

Actress Jane Seymour, City Hearts Honorary National Chairperson, will attend the celebration. She has been involved with City Hearts programs for over 19 years, teaching and helping to bring attention to the organization.

Since January 1984, City Hearts has worked with 23,000 at-greatest-risk children in Southern California. As a program of prevention by criminal defense attorneys Sherry and Bob Jason, City Hearts now reaches over 3,000 at-greatest-risk children each year, ages five to 18, through unique and inspiring, free after-school programs in core arts disciplines. City Hearts is committed to using the arts to intervene in a loving, supportive and nurturing way to break the cycle of poverty, neglect, abuse and violence that destroys the lives of so many of our community's children who face everyday challenges of gangs, drugs and crime. The programs are designed to show these most disadvantaged children an alternate path of social involvement and life-affirming success.
