Man Falls Into Train Gap and Gets Crushed

A Man Gets Wedged Between a Subway Train and the Station Gap Prompting New York Personal Injury Attorneys Such as David Perecman to Question Who Was at Fault: Man or MTA

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - December 16, 2009) - Two days ago in Union Square station, a man slipped and fell into the gap between a subway train and the platform, to the dismay of New York City personal injury attorneys. The 40-something year old man found himself wedged between the platform and the train, which had just pulled into the station. According to the New York Post, he is now in stable condition after suffering head, neck, shoulder and chest injuries.

On the Long Island Rail Road there have been a number of gap-related personal injury lawsuits. However, this problem is not so common in the city of New York, personal injury attorney David Perecman said.

"I might say that at times obtaining compensation from New York Transit Authority can be difficult. And... one might imagine the debate will be whether gaps between a train car and the station platform are the responsibility of the rider to mind them, or the MTA to make sure the gaps are smaller. He needs a good New York personal injury attorney," said Perecman.
