Managing Automation Announces Judging Panel for the Fourth Annual Progressive Manufacturing Awards

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - December 3, 2007) - Managing Automation, a Thomas Publishing Company, LLC, publication, today announced the judging panel for the 2008 Progressive Manufacturing Awards, which support and reflect the extensive push by manufacturers to improve competitiveness and capitalize on growth opportunities.

The Managing Automation Progressive Manufacturing 50 Awards will recognize 50 companies that have achieved distinction in at least one of the eight core disciplines defined by Managing Automation as critical to business success in the years ahead. Managing Automation will also present High Achiever Awards to one company in each of the eight disciplines. In addition, one company will be chosen as the overall Progressive Manufacturer of the Year.

Since its inception in 2003, the Progressive Manufacturing concept -- which advocates business transformation supported by advanced technology -- has been defined by a set of key business and transformation disciplines. The Progressive Manufacturing 50 will be honored at the 2008 Progressive Manufacturing Summit, to be held June 10-12, 2008, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas. More than 200 manufacturing technology executives are expected to attend. All High Achiever Award winners will receive an award presented by Managing Automation at the Progressive Manufacturing 50 Gala Dinner taking place at the Summit. The Progressive Manufacturing 50 as well as the 2008 High Achiever Award winners and the Progressive Manufacturer of the Year will be recognized in Managing Automation's print and online properties and will be granted use of the prestigious Progressive Manufacturing Award logo that can be used to communicate their achievement internally and externally.

Selection Process and Award Categories

Companies or divisions/subsidiaries of companies based anywhere in the world are eligible to submit nominations for the fourth annual Progressive Manufacturing 50 Awards Program. A blue-ribbon panel of manufacturing industry experts will evaluate nominations to select the 50 companies that will be recognized, the eight category winners, the High Achievers in each category, and the Progressive Manufacturer of the Year.
