Manhattan Center's Log Cabin Hosts Myspace Recording Sessions Featuring British Rockers The 1975

Manchester-Based Band Records Videos for 'Sex,' 'Chocolate' and 'Settle Down'

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - September 04, 2013) -  Fans of the Manchester, UK-based alt rock band The 1975 were treated to the UK release of their eponymous debut album on September 2. In advance of the release, Myspace brought the band to Manhattan Center's acclaimed recording studio, the Log Cabin -- located at 311 West 34th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues -- to record a series of exclusive performances in Myspace's "Live at the Log Cabin" series.

The 1975 -- consisting of Matthew Healy (vocals, guitar), Adam Hann (guitar), George Daniel (drums) and Ross MacDonald (bass) -- recorded live performances of their songs "Sex" and "Chocolate" at the Log Cabin on August 8. They returned to the Log Cabin on August 28 to record a live performance of their upcoming single "Settle Down," as well as a mix of candid studio conversation.

Joseph Patel, VP Content & Creative at Myspace, said, "The teenager in me wanted to selfishly keep the Log Cabin as my own little secret. But of course, we couldn't be happier collaborating with them, and sharing that work out into the world. The Log Cabin is this hidden gem of a studio in the middle of Midtown Manhattan. When you stand inside the place, surrounded by those gorgeous, musty forest-lumber walls and all the genuine outdoorsman decor, you legitimately feel like you're recording in the backwoods of Wisconsin instead of the concrete morass of New York City. It's intimate and cozy, and staffed with an awesome team of folks who truly treat you like family. We needed a home for a music performance series and Log Cabin was the perfect place -- the only place, really -- to do the video series we wanted to do."
