Manicouagan Files Revised Brabant Lake Technical Report

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 21, 2007) - Manicouagan Minerals Inc. (TSX VENTURE:MAM) announced today that it has refiled the Brabant Lake NI 43-101 Technical Report prepared by MPH Consulting Ltd. on SEDAR. This amended and revised technical report supersedes the previous NI 43-101 Technical Report completed for the Company by MPH Consulting Ltd. and filed on SEDAR on July 17, 2007. The Technical Report was amended and revised as of August 10, 2007 and has an effective date of September 15, 2006. Section 17 of the Technical Report was revised to make it clear that the inferred resource is a current resource, as that term is used in NI 43-101.

The Technical Report was also revised to incorporate a summary of the holes drilled by Manicouagan on the Brabant Lake property since September 15th, 2006. Since commencing drilling on the property, Manicouagan Minerals has completed 28 holes for a total of 8,936 metres of diamond drilling. This filing is being made at the request of the Ontario Securities Commission as a result of a routine continuous disclosure review.

As noted in the amended and revised Technical Report, the Brabant Lake zinc deposit consists of an inferred resource of 4,858,000 tonnes grading 5.19% zinc, 0.57% copper, 0.28% lead, 22.59 g/t silver and 0.22 g/t gold. The Brabant Lake Technical Report can also be viewed on the Company's website at

To date Manicouagan Minerals has released assay results for holes BR-06-01 to BR-07-23. Assay results are pending for holes BR-07-24 to BR-07-28. The current Phase II program is expected to consist of 30 to 40 holes totaling some 12,000 to 15,000 metres of diamond drilling.

The Brabant Lake property consists of 21 contiguous claims registered as ML 5054 and is located immediately east of Highway 102 some 175 km from the all services community of La Ronge, Saskatchewan.

Exploration programs are being carried out under the supervision of Rod Thomas, Vice President - Exploration of the Company. Mr. Thomas, a professional geologist, has reviewed and verified the technical content of this press release on behalf of Manicouagan Minerals and is a "Qualified Person" as defined in National Instrument 43-101.
