Manoir du Lac William Inaugurates its New Facilities Thanks to Funding From Government of Canada

SAINT-FERDINAND, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Sept. 29, 2011) - The Honourable Christian Paradis, Minister of Industry and Minister of State (Agriculture), took advantage of his presence at the inauguration of Manoir du lac William's new facilities to recall that the Government of Canada awarded $800,000 in repayable funding to the tourist establishment to complete this project.

"The Government of Canada's financial support for Manoir du lac William's project demonstrates its commitment to supporting the growth of an enterprise that actively contributes to the development of Centre-du-Québec's tourism industry," said Minister Paradis.

The overall project, which necessitated a total investment of more than $3 million, involved making improvements to the existing facilities and expanding the main building to add 21 suites, an indoor pool and two meeting rooms. The funding from Canada Economic Development was used primarily to conduct the work on the main building.

Founded in 1956, Manoir du lac William has undergone a number of renovations as well as three phases of expansion since its acquisition by the Lessard family in 1992. By highlighting this jewel in the crown of Centre-du-Québec's tourism and diversifying the lodging supply in the region, the work carried out in 2011 is sure to attract outdoor enthusiasts throughout the year.
