Mansfield Adds New Project to Portfolio

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 18, 2006) - Mansfield Minerals Inc. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:MDR) has been granted an exploration license for the Lagunas los Patos project, covering an area of 4,500 hectares in Catamarca Province, Argentina. Mineralization consists mainly of gold-silver values in low-sulphidation veins and gold-silver mineralization disseminated within intensely silicified dacitic porphyry. A total of 270 prospecting samples showed a range from no significant value to 3 g/t gold and from no significant value to 470 g/t silver. The Company is planning a program comprising follow-up geologic mapping and sampling to define trench and drill targets.

The Company's wholly owned Argentine subsidiary was recently presented with an award of distinction at Argentina Gold 2006, an international symposium held in Buenos Aires on November 29th and 30th, 2006. The award is in recognition of the vision and dedication of the Company's exploration team leading to its significant mineral discovery, the Lindero gold deposit, in Argentina.
