Manufacturing Job Growth in Arizona Stalls

EVANSTON, IL--(Marketwired - June 22, 2016) - Manufacturers' News, Inc. -- Manufacturing employment in Arizona was little changed over the past year, reports the 2016 Arizona Manufacturers Directory®, an industrial database and directory published by Manufacturers' News, Inc. (MNI) Evanston, IL. According to MNI's industrial database, manufacturers in Arizona shed 143 jobs between March 2015 and March 2016 -- less than one percent.

Arizona's 5,413 manufacturers employ 215,117 in the state, reports MNI.

"High business costs and a lack of skilled workers continue to put a dent in Arizona's industrial sector," says Tom Dubin, President of the Evanston, IL-based publishing company, which has been surveying industry since 1912. "However, employment has remained fairly steady since the recession, with the state's abundant natural resources and solid infrastructure drawing new manufacturers to the state."
