Government of Canada supports the Festival des sucres de Saint-Pierre-Baptiste


SAINT-PIERRE-BAPTISTE, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - March 3, 2015) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Honourable Christian Paradis, Minister of International Development, Minister for La Francophonie and Member of Parliament (Mégantic-L'Érable), today announced $26,700 in funding for the Festival des sucres de Saint-Pierre-Baptiste. He made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.
The Government of Canada is providing this funding under the Local Festivals component of the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program.

Quick Facts

  • The 58th Festival des sucres de Saint-Pierre-Baptiste is expected to draw around 5,200 visitors and will showcase the talent of more than 70 local artists and performers.
  • From May 14 to 17, visitors can sample delicious maple products while enjoying family-oriented shows and activities.
  • The lineup will include an amateur music and dance gala, a country evening, a family-themed day with shows, circus performances and demonstrations by a local blacksmith.
  • The three-day festival will be supported by 125 volunteers at every stage of the event.
