Marathon Technologies' Global v-Available Channel Program Achieves Exponential Growth in Rapidly Expanding Server Virtualization Market

Program Helps IT Channel Meet Growing Demand for Reliable High Availability for Server Virtualization; Increases Virtualization Adoption

LITTLETON, MA--(Marketwire - February 27, 2008) - Marathon Technologies Corporation, the only provider of fault-tolerant, high availability software for physical and virtual servers, today announced that its v-Available™ Channel Partner Program is gaining strong acceptance in the rapidly expanding virtualization market. So far this year, Marathon has added over 100 channel partners globally into the v-Available Program. Aimed at exploiting a lack of effective availability technology for server virtualization, the program qualifies resellers as experts in integrating fault-tolerant, high availability software into virtual server environments. The channel program is a key component of Marathon's broader v-Available initiative, designed to provide companies of all sizes with effective high availability software for server virtualization.

The company's channel program momentum comes at critical time for the mainstream adoption of server virtualization, which has achieved a less than ten percent deployment rate on x86 servers to date, according to leading analyst firm IDC. Through the v-Available program, Marathon and its partners are eliminating one of the major barriers to broader server virtualization adoption -- the lack of reliable high availability for virtual servers -- and providing customers with the assurance that critical data, networks and applications will be protected in both physical and virtual server environments.

"Many of our customers deploying server virtualization have expressed interest in virtualizing more business critical applications," said Jay Patterson, Director of Sales at Integrated IT Solutions, Waltham, MA. "But up until this point they have not had a viable solution that provides the rock-solid availability needed to confidently run essential applications in virtual machines. By combining our expertise in access infrastructure solutions with Marathon's fault-tolerant, high availability software, we can now provide midsized and larger companies with automated, reliable protection for critical applications running on virtual servers."

"When we were looking at where we could take our virtualization services, it made a lot of sense for us to continue our relationship with Citrix, and Marathon's recent accolades and history drew us strongly to them also," said David Turner, vendor development manager for IQ Sys Ltd, Slough, UK. "When we saw what the products combined provided, it quickly became clear that this was a virtualization solution that was streets ahead of anything offered by other vendors."

Marathon has recently signed more than 100 channel partners into the v-Available channel program in North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa bringing the company's total number of partners to over 300. A majority of the new partners are also Citrix Platinum or Citrix Gold solution partners.

"In all parts of the world, we are hearing the same thing from the channel," said Gary Phillips, president and CEO at Marathon Technologies. "When they see how easily and inexpensively our everRun VM software makes it to provide real high availability to virtual servers, they ask us 'what's the catch.' There is no catch, just a great opportunity for the channel to accelerate server virtualization adoption. Our channel expansion is yet another indication of the increasing market demand for simple, FT-class availability software for virtual server environments."

Marathon's everRun line of fault-tolerant, high availability software products protects Microsoft Windows applications from leading sources of downtime while eliminating the need for costly and complex failover processes, specialized applications, or proprietary server hardware. Turnkey, automated, and simplicity are the cornerstones of the everRun line, which uses embedded intelligent policy management to prevent application downtime. The primary benefit to the end user is that they are protecting their business by ensuring continuity of operations -- simply, at low cost and with complete confidence. CIO.com recently named Marathon Technologies one of "10 Virtualization Vendors to Watch in 2008."
