On Tuesday, October 22 from 6 - 9 pm, Eva's Initiatives will hold its must-attend fall fundraiser, Taste Matters, at the Liberty Grand Governor's Ballroom, 25 British Columbia Ave. This annual tasting gala features more than 30 vineyards, craft breweries and impressive Toronto area restaurants. Proceeds from this evening will provide safe shelter (Eva's provides one-third of all youth shelter beds in Toronto), employment training, counselling, and innovative programs and services for homeless and at-risk youth aged 16-24.

The evening features a live and silent auction including airfare from exclusive airline provider, Air Canada, travel packages, excellent concert and sporting event tickets, high-end wines, and a Canadian rock celebrity-signed guitar including golf for 2 with this legend! Youth from Eva's three shelters will be hosting tasting tables and a youth photography exhibit featuring one-of-a-kind photos available to purchase this one night only. Tickets range from $100-150 and are available online via the website at www.tastematters.ca or call 416-977-4497.

Marci Ien is a news junkie, a mom of two, a basketball fan and on November, 24, 2011 she became the Co-Host of CANADA AM - CTV's national morning show. Already a familiar face in the mornings, Ien was CANADA AM's News Anchor from 2003 - 2011.

Ien is one of only five alumni to be inducted into the Ryerson University Radio and Television Arts (RTA) 2013 Wall of Fame for her significant contributions to the field of media. Her career in television spans over three decades and has taken her from Halifax, where she joined CTV National News as a reporter in 1997, to Vancouver, where she was the News Anchor for CTV's OLYMPIC MORNING at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Ien's charity work has seen her travel across the globe. In 2008, Ien travelled to Sierra Leone on behalf of Journalists for Human Rights where she met with reporters and led training workshops. She also works with World Vision for whom she traveled to Sri Lanka to report on the situation following the 2004 Tsunami.

Eva's provides safe shelter, training, counselling, and a wide range of innovative programs and services to help homeless and at-risk youth reach their potential to lead productive, self-sufficient and healthy lives. With cutting-edge services, and distinctive programming, Eva's offers a continuum of service not available anywhere else in Canada. Locally, Eva's operates three unique shelters that accommodate 114 youth, aged 16-24, each night. Nationally, Eva's works to build innovative and long term solutions to youth homelessness.
