Marifil Finds New Indium Targets at San Roque

SPOKANE, WASHINGTON--(CCNMatthews - April 9, 2007) - MARIFIL MINES LTD. (TSX VENTURE:MFM) ("Marifil" or "the Company") announces that assaying for indium in samples from the first exploration program, conducted earlier in the exploration season (see Marifil news releases of November 9, 2006 and February 15, 2007), reveals indium may be more widespread than the Company geologists initially believed. Ninety-five gold-bearing samples were re-assayed for indium and 22 contain significant amounts of indium with values ranging to 2.975 kilos per tonne. At current prices, this would have a value of more than $2,200 per tonne.

The Del Indio vein occurs near the northeast end of a major northeast striking structural zone, 600 to 700 m wide and more than 4,000 m in length. The southwest end of the Del Indio vein passes into a broad alluvial valley without outcrops. Within this valley soil samples show weak gold anomalies along the projection of the Del Indio vein. The alluvial cover is too thick for trenching so the Company is planning additional geophysics and/or drilling to test this southwest extension of the vein.

This recent work also reveals two possible new indium targets. The first target is the El Relincho vein, which is a northwest-striking vein near the west end of the Del Indio vein. This vein contains minor but ubiquitous amounts of indium along with significant amounts of gold. The second new area is the Target 5 vein, located 1,100 meters southwest of and sub-parallel to the Del Indio vein. Drilling is in progress to test this target, which lies several hundred meters north of the previously mentioned gold-in-soil anomalies and contains weakly anomalous amounts of indium in a gold-bearing vein.

The results of the new indium assays are:
