Marifil Mines Ltd.: Drilling in Progress at Toruel Silver Project

SPOKANE, WASHINGTON--(CCNMatthews - June 7, 2005) - MARIFIL MINES LTD. (TSX VENTURE:MFM) reports that it has completed 16 holes for about 900 meters ("m") of a planned +2,500 m drill program at its wholly-owned Toruel epithermal Silver-Gold Project in Rio Negro Province, Argentina.

The first target is the main Toruel vein, one of a number of sulfide bearing structures on the property. Strongly silicified breccias and quartz veins having significant amounts of sulfide mineralization consisting of pyrite, galena, and chalcopyrite have been intercepted in 15 of the holes.

Mr. Guillermo Figueroa, the project geologist states, "the vein intercepts contain a lot more sulfide mineralization than I expected, and I was surprised to see visible native silver in the DDH-1 core."

The average length of the mineralized intercepts in the first 11 holes is 5.90 m (about 4.7 m of true width), with the maximum intercept being 10 m. The angle drill hole penetrations are variably spaced along a kilometer of strike length of the main vein.

The initial drilling comprises a fence of angle drill holes designed to intersect the vein about 30 m below the surface. Drilling has now started on a second fence of angle drill holes designed to intercept the vein about 60 m below the surface. Several drill holes are planned to penetrate the projection of the mineralized structure at a vertical depth of 100 meters or more.

The drill program is expected to continue for several weeks. First assay results are expected near the end of June.

Drill core assays from the Company's wholly-owned Paquita gold project are expected shortly. (See Marifil Mines Ltd. press release of May 3, 2005).

All assaying is being done by Alex Stewart & Co. laboratory in Mendoza, Argentina. Elements other than silver and gold were analyzed by ICP at the same laboratory.

This press release has been reviewed and approved by John Hite, President of Marifil Mines Ltd. under whose direction the exploration programs are being carried out. Mr. Hite is a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
