Marifil Mines Ltd.: Silver and Base Metals Intercepted in Toruel Drilling

SPOKANE, WASHINGTON--(CCNMatthews - July 6, 2005) - MARIFIL MINES LTD. (TSX VENTURE:MFM) reports that it has received assay results for the first 6 holes of its 30 hole, 2,270-meter (m) diamond drill program at the Company's wholly-owned Toruel epithermal Silver-Gold Project in Rio Negro Province, Argentina.

DDH-1, sited near the west end of the main mineralized outcrop (see map below), cut 2.4 meters approximate true thickness grading 0.94 g/t gold and 1,187 g/t silver (37.4 oz/t silver). Significant amounts of copper, lead, and zinc are associated with the precious metals. Assays for total amounts of copper, lead, and zinc are pending.

The silver and gold intercepts for the first six holes are presented in the table below:

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Drill Hole # From (m) To (m) Meters Gold Silver
(g/t) (g/t)

plus 35.1 36.1 1.0 1.27 287

The Company would like to emphasize the following points:

1. Mineralization is hosted in a fault controlled, silicified breccia.

2. The gold-silver intervals presented in the table above generally occur within a thicker interval of copper-lead-zinc mineralization.

3. With the progression of drill holes, it became obvious that mineralization was decreasing in grade eastward from DDH-1.

4. Drill holes located west of DDH-1 show stronger base metal sulfide mineralization (silver assays are pending).

The Toruel epithermal system is believed to have a total strike length in excess of 5 kilometers, based on continually emerging field data, and its evaluation will require additional, staged drilling campaigns.

Company geologists now believe the Toruel epithermal deposit(s) are uplifted along the eastern sector where these drill hole results are being reported, and that the entire mineralized system is also tilted to the west. Their tentative conclusion is the epithermal mineralization has been better preserved from erosion on the "West Extreme", outcropping for about 350 meters (Hole 29), with post-mineral cover on its continued westward strike extension.

All assaying is being done by Alex Stewart & Co. laboratory in Mendoza, Argentina. Elements other than silver and gold were analyzed by ICP at the same laboratory.
