Mark Roozen Joins STACK Media as Senior Content Manager

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Apr 11, 2011) - Mark Roozen, an experienced strength and conditioning specialist, owner and founder of Performance Edge Training Systems (Colorado Springs), and former Director of Certification and member of the Board of Directors of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), has joined STACK Media, the nation's leading producer and distributor of sports training, performance, and lifestyle content for active sports participants. As STACK's Senior Content Manager, Roozen will be responsible for developing editorial strategies and content concepts to serve the needs of athletes, coaches and others concerned with safe and effective athletic training.

Roozen, the first NSCA-certified specialist to join STACK full-time, brings a wealth of experience, not only in the weight room, but in the classroom and the executive suite of organizations dedicated to athletic performance. Prior to joining NSCA in 2008, he owned and operated the Performance Zone Training and Fitness Center (Granbury, TX); lectured in the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Department of Tarleton State University (Stephenville, TX); and served as Director of Operations for The Center for Health & Fitness at the Lake Granbury (TX) Medical Center. Over the past few years, he has worked with Olympic athletes in China and assisted preseason workouts for the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars. Throughout his career, he has worked with over 25,000 youth athletes and countless professional athletes, including Tim Dwight of the New York Jets, Emmitt Smith of the Dallas Cowboys, and many other NFL players.

In his younger days, Roozen was a player/coach for the Cardiff Tigers of the National (Football) League of Great Britain.

A prolific author and lecturer, Roozen has written numerous articles for professional journals and presented at a host of industry events. With Performance Edge Training Systems, he offered performance training and products while simultaneously handling public appearances, speaking, and consultant work. He also serves as a co-director of the Performance Education Association, a new membership organization that promotes "Education through Application" for coaches and trainers to improve performance, and he is a partner with Day of Champions Sports Camps, conducting camps for young athletes all over the world.

Roozen earned a Master's in Exercise Science from Tarleton State University and a Bachelor's in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
