Mark-Taylor Apartment Communities Offers Residents Free Fitness

Properties Throughout the West Help Residents Shape Up for Summer

SCOTTSDALE, AZ--(Marketwire - May 1, 2012) - Mark-Taylor, the apartment management company known for its innovative marketing programs, is helping new and existing residents get ready for swimsuit season by offering complimentary gym memberships and personal training sessions at its communities in Phoenix, Las Vegas and Washington State -- a unique approach that meets the needs of prospective tenants that are seeking a fresh, healthy start-over in life.

"This is much more meaningful than simply pointing out where the fitness center is located," said Mark-Taylor Director of Marketing Kim Atkinson. "This is a strategic campaign, which can help our existing residents as well as those who may be researching the right community for their next phase in life."

Central to Mark-Taylor's "Spring Into Action" program is its expansive partnership with Life Time Fitness, offering a one-month membership, personal training and two weeks of boot camp to existing and new residents at its 32 metro Phoenix communities.

The program is anticipated to be well received by Mark-Taylor residents, many whom are seeking the best lifestyle fit in a rental market that has become increasingly competitive in light of the challenging economy, with more residents moving from home ownership to renting, or delaying home purchases. According to the National Multihousing Council, more than 44 percent of people living in metro Phoenix are renters.

"There is something about getting a fresh start in a new apartment," Atkinson said. "Renters are coming from a wide variety of perspectives and experiences, and advocating a healthy lifestyle may be what helps them choose one of our communities."

New residents at Mark-Taylor communities in Las Vegas will receive a three-month membership to any Las Vegas Athletic Club, and Mark-Taylor residents in Redmond and Woodinville, Wash. will receive a 30-day membership to Gold's Gym and/or personal training.

NBA All-Star Cedric Ceballos is a partner in the "Spring Into Action" program, advocating physical fitness and good nutrition through Mark-Taylor social media channels and events. Ceballos's fitness tips and videos can be accessed at Mark-Taylor TV on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and its Mark-Taylor blog.

The" Spring into Action" offer is only available for a limited time, through May 31. Future residents must sign up for training within 30 days of moving into a Mark-Taylor community.
