Marketing Company Finds Link Between Smoking Ban, Electronic Cigarette Sales

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL--(Marketwire - November 17, 2010) - Beach Marketing, Inc. reports on recent online marketing trends. The company has recently found a link in the surge of electronic cigarettes being sold online to the recent smoking bans that are being enforced across the world.

Not an hour of the day goes by when smokers of all shapes and sizes are online reading about the latest revolution -- electronic cigarettes. Also called "personal vaporizers, e cigarettes, vapor cigarettes, or steam cigarettes," these smoking cessation devices have swept the globe and become a serious topic of discussion among people looking for ways to continue smoking amidst a global crackdown on smoking in public places.

The amount of interest on several websites polled when compiling this report was mind-boggling, and one e-cigarette expert, Andy Gray, said, "I always knew this industry would grow, but it's gotten to the point where the public smoking bans have become the norm, and people are looking to find a way to puff on something that simulates smoking traditional cigarettes, and the first place they look is the Internet." 

Most electronic cigarette brands sell exclusively online, with a few distributing products through mall kiosks or smoking-related shops that specialize in smoking devices, pipes, and other tobacco products. These vaporized versions of cigarettes do have nicotine, but do not contain tar or carcinogens, according to reports. The major advantage of electronic cigarettes is that they do not emit any foul odor, they do not emit second hand smoke, and of course no lighter or ash tray is needed. 

"It's truly a worry-free smoking sensation," added a long time smoker named Dave, who has switched from smoking traditional cigarettes and opts for the menthol smoke by V2 Cigs, a rising brand of e cigarettes. "I don't have to worry about ashing on my clothing or burning anyone with a cigarette," added Dave.

Many brands differentiate their devices by using flavored cartridges and different levels and strengths of nicotine, although one brand, The Safe Cig, prides itself on being different by only offering e cigs that emulate traditional smoking. The brand does not and claims it will not ever produce flavors. Other brands like Green Smoke, one of the most popular brands of e cigarettes, offer many different flavored cartridges so that "social smokers" can also enjoy the products at reduced nicotine levels.

All brands make it very easy to e-smoke. A battery pack charges the cigarette and can be charged with a USB charger or wall charger. Cartridges are reported to last much longer than traditional cigarettes, and are the only part of the device that must be re-filled. 

With traditional smoking taking the lives of as many as 400,000 in the USA alone, it's no wonder people are looking for alternatives. While the FDA is still investigating the long-term stance on e-cigarettes, one thing is for certain: the various brands of electronic cigarettes out there today are benefiting from the public smoking bans.
