MarketLive Customers Head Into Holiday Retail Season With Double-Digit Revenue Growth (Again)

Releases Q3 2013 Performance Index Report Showing 17.2% YOY Average Revenue Growth; All Key Commerce Metrics Are Up Across the Board

As in previous quarters, MarketLive's customers once again enjoyed double-digit revenue growth with an average YOY Q3 increase of +17.2 percent -- which bested the industry average of 13.2 percent.(1)

The MarketLive Performance Index Vol. 22 details year-over-year retail performance among its omni-channel commerce customers, with data broken out by retail sector and key performance metrics including average customer visits, average order size, conversion rates, and more. The report also offers online retailers tips, based upon the real-world buying behavior of millions of online consumers, for achieving gains throughout the 2013 Holiday season and beyond.

Highlights from the Q3 Performance Index report of MarketLive's customer base include:

  • Shoppers visiting retail websites from smartphones and tablets now account for 35 percent of all traffic -- an increase of 47 percent on tablet and 56 percent on mobile

  • Revenue from mobile devices was 17 percent in Q3, an over 50 percent increase from 2012

  • Social commerce traffic is up 29 percent and revenue is up 77 percent

  • For some merchants, "social assist" is now involved in 8.5 percent of all orders

  • Average order size in Q3 was $141.68 (an increase of 1.5 percent over Q3 2012)

  • Add-to-cart rates are up 3.2 percent, from 7.75 percent to over 8 percent

  • Site visits are up 15.7 percent

  • Conversion rates are averaging 2.5 percent (an increase of 0.5 percent over Q3 2012)
