MarketLive Customers Report 18.7% Revenue Gains in Q1 2014 According to Quarterly Performance Index Report

Q1 Index Report Marks Six Consecutive Quarters of Double-Digit Revenue Increases; Mobile Drives Increasing Percentage of Revenue Growth

PETALUMA, CA--(Marketwired - May 7, 2014) - MarketLive, the leading Total Commerce platform for high-growth merchants, today announced the results of its Performance Index™ report for Q1 2014. The quarterly report analyzing online retailing performance for MarketLive customers shows an average year-over-year (YOY) revenue gain of 18.7 percent for Q1 2014 versus Q1 2013. This quarterly gain marks the sixth consecutive quarter that MarketLive's customers enjoyed double-digit revenue growth.

The study also found continued growth in traffic from smartphone and tablet devices, which MarketLive predicts will represent increase to represent 50% of all traffic by the end of 2014.

MarketLive's Performance Index Vol. 24 details year-over-year online retailing performance among its omni-channel commerce customers. The survey results are broken out by retail sector and key performance metrics including average customer visits, average order size, conversion rates, and more. The report also tracks path to purchase and cart abandonment data and offers online retailing tips and best practices, based on the real-world buying behavior of millions of online consumers.

Highlights from the Q1 Performance Index report include:

  • Total revenue increased by an average of 18.7 percent over Q1 of 2013, higher than the Channel Advisor predicted growth rate of 14%.
  • Twelve percent of MarketLive's customers saw revenue increases of more than 50 percent
  • Site traffic increased an average of 13.9 percent
  • Add-to-cart rates increased 1 percent, with nearly 12% of tablet visitors adding an item to their cart.
  • Average order size in Q1 was $114.55, up almost 4.5%
  • Other macro finding include: Mobile revenue was up 47% and Tablet revenue up 32% over Q1 2013, Smartphone paid search conversion has tripled in the past year and email conversion rate has doubled.
