MarketLive Merchants Break Records Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday & Cyber Monday

Revenue Grows by 26% YOY on Thanksgiving Day, 29% on Black Friday, and 56% on Cyber Monday for a Strong Start to the 2010 Holiday Shopping Season

PETALUMA, CA--(Marketwire - December 2, 2010) - MarketLive, Inc., the leader in eCommerce software and solutions, today revealed record revenue growth on Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday and Cyber Monday across its retail family. Compared to 2009, revenues were up 26%, 29%, and 56% respectively. Site traffic also increased significantly indicating that merchants' efforts to drive more qualified traffic to their sites paid off. With year-over-year online spending trending positively, anticipation for continued growth throughout the 2010 holiday shopping season is high.

As the holiday shopping season began, conversion rates, order volume, and revenue all increased. For online retailers, this points to consumers researching items on Thanksgiving Day, deciding what to buy on Black Friday, and making their purchases on Cyber Monday. In fact, 15% of revenue from the three days came in on Thanksgiving Day, 29% on Black Friday, and 56% on Cyber Monday, which according to comScore was the heaviest online spending day in history and the first to surpass the billion-dollar threshold at $1.028 billion.

MarketLive retailers leveraged advanced search, sophisticated use of discounting and free shipping offers, targeted promotions and best practices on their retail sites to help shoppers find and select products. MarketLive retailers also were able to strategically use discounting this season, rather than to start the season with deep discounts that cut into profits.
