MarketLive Partnership Approach Contributes to Record-Breaking Holiday Increases in Traffic, Conversions, and Sales for Cuddledown

Fourth Quarter Site Visits Up 42%, Conversions Up 3%, and Sales Up 53%

PETALUMA, CA--(Marketwire - January 11, 2011) -   MarketLive, Inc., the leader in eCommerce software and solutions, today announced Cuddledown, a manufacturer and multichannel retailer of luxury bedding, down products, sleepwear, and home furnishings, experienced record growth in traffic, conversions, and sales. Fourth quarter site visits were up 42%, conversions were up 3%, and sales were up 53% over 2009 same quarter results. In addition to these quarterly increases, Black Friday weekend results were record breaking and jaw dropping. Black Friday through Cyber Monday site visits were up 49%, conversions up 54%, and sales up 121% over the same four-day period in 2009.

Driving Conversion
Primary contributors to Cuddledown's success were the addition of new programs including a comparison-shopping engine data feed, social marketing, and ratings and reviews. Cuddledown also implemented more aggressive email segmentation strategies that improved overall productivity of the company's email marketing program. Lastly, Cuddledown made significant SEO improvements throughout its site -- a direct result of many sessions at the MarketLive Summit that focused solely on SEO strategies that work.

Promoting Promotions
The incredible Black Friday through Cyber Monday results were directly related to implementing a MarketLive recommendation to implement a Cuddledown promotion site-wide and provide customers with non-restrictive discounts. While Cuddledown stepped up the promotion and creative execution at every turn, they also relied heavily on MarketLive to improve the onsite experience of the promotion to ensure that customers wouldn't abandon the site during the path to purchase. MarketLive also assisted in dynamically changing the page displays to reinforce the promotional messaging, driving Cuddledown's conversion rate up much higher than in 2009.
