MarketLive's Annual Customer Summit Showcases Best Practices and Winning E-Commerce Strategies

Summit Provides Leading E-Commerce Companies Opportunity to Share Cutting Edge Techniques During Three-Day Event

PETALUMA, CA--(Marketwire - June 13, 2007) - MarketLive, the leading global e-commerce application platform and services provider for retailers, will be holding its annual e-commerce summit June 18 though June 20, at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn in Sonoma, California. The 2007 MarketLive E-commerce Summit will bring together executives from more than 100 online stores that are powered by MarketLive's hosted application platform and e-commerce services.

The MarketLive Summit is an opportunity for e-commerce vendors to learn valuable strategies and techniques based upon others' real-world online retail experience. Among the MarketLive customers scheduled to attend the Summit will be representatives from Norm Thompson Outfitters, Calico Corners, Bon-Ton stores, Party America and Helzberg Diamonds. These companies represent a cross section of the nearly 200 companies using MarketLive's software in various online market segments such as cataloguers, jewelry, apparel, sporting goods, and department stores.

"The MarketLive E-commerce Summit allows our customers to demonstrate new e-commerce strategies, while giving us the opportunity to update our customers on MarketLive's new technology and company news," said Terry Austin, chief executive officer of MarketLive. "Our annual summit gives us a chance to thank our customers for their loyalty, strengthen our relationships as a strategic partner, and share ideas on how to improve MarketLive."

Highlighting the Summit will be three keynote presentations from e-commerce experts. Charlene Li, vice president and principal analyst for Forrester Research, will be speaking on "Shopping as Entertainment: The Web Store of the Future," discussing how leading online merchants are creating new strategies to make online shopping more interactive and fun. Stefan Tornquist, research director for MarketingSherpa Inc., will address "Beyond Benchmarks - Data Driven Tactics for Acquisition and Retention," which will draw from the MarketingSherpa eCommerce Benchmark Guide to guide attendees through the acquisition-experience-retention cycle of e-commerce. Donna Hoffman, co-director of the Sloan Center for Internet Retailing at the University of California, Riverside, will also be on hand to speak on "The Evolution of the Customer Experience: 10 Trends You Can't Afford to Miss," a presentation profiling her research on what the future holds for customer-centric online retail development. MarketLive will be webcasting the keynote presentations by Charlene Li, Donna Hoffman, and Stefan Tornquist in July and August. To participate, contact

During the Summit, attendees also will review the findings from the first quarterly MarketLive Performance Index. This Index is the first of its kind, combining data gathered from MarketLive's hosted e-commerce customers to assess online retail performance beyond conversion and cart abandonment. The Index examines previously unexplored metrics, such as customer engagement and checkout effectiveness, and combines the findings with best practices and proven strategies that show online retailers how to improve their own site performance.

"MarketLive is committed to helping online retailers understand how visitors interact with their e-commerce sites, and how they can improve the online shopping experience to increase loyalty and drive sales," MarketLive Chairman, Founder and Chief Evangelist, Ken Burke adds. "At the Summit we plan to discuss the findings of the first MarketLive Performance Index we announced last week, which measures the performance of online merchants using an untapped set of metrics that reveals best practices for better performance. By implementing our proven best practices, online retailers will be able to increase their revenues."
