MarketRiders Launches Personalized Target Date Portfolios

New Software Includes Vanguard Index Funds; Optimizes for Commission Free Trading

DANVILLE, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 22, 2011) - MarketRiders, the online portfolio management service, today launches Version 3.0 of its software with important new features. Personalized Target Date Portfolios allow self-directed investors to build customized all-ETF target date portfolios and manage how they shift over time. MarketRiders has added Vanguard index mutual funds so that investors can use its software to build, manage and rebalance portfolios using these index funds. Finally, MarketRiders portfolios are now optimized to take advantage of commission-free ETF trading at Schwab, Fidelity, TD Ameritrade and Vanguard.

Target Date Funds are popular for retirement accounts. But when investors own these funds, they are locked into a standard 'glide path' for the fund where, over time, the percentage of riskier stock funds are replaced by less-risky bonds. With MarketRiders investors can control their own glide path by periodically giving the software any changes in one's personal situation and getting a revised portfolio recommendation.

"Traditional target date mutual funds transition to less risk based on generic assumptions of people's needs and circumstances," explains Mitch Tuchman, CEO, MarketRiders. "But each investor has unique needs that vary and will change from assumed expectations. Our software lets the investor change targets over time in a way that corresponds to specific circumstances, not according to the terms of some pre-packaged portfolio." Target Date Portfolios are built using ETFs that have been researched to be the best of each asset class and with very low fees.

In this new release, MarketRiders has added popular Vanguard index mutual funds into the software engine so customers can utilize these index funds to create a portfolio. Also, MarketRiders is now optimized for the commission-free ETF trades available through Fidelity, Vanguard, Schwab and TD Ameritrade so investors can take advantage of these no-cost trades, making rebalancing and portfolio management as close to 'free' as possible.

"When investors tell our software engine that they are customers of these particular brokers, we recommend around the brokers' commission-free offerings to help you reduce your trading commissions," said Mr. Tuchman. "Our mission is to keep fees and expenses as low as possible. That's why it is imperative that we help our investors to take advantage of these no-cost trades."
