Markville Shopping Centre Delivers A Sophisticated and Redefined Retail Experience to Consumers

MARKHAM, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 25, 2013) - Following a $111 million revitalization, Markville Shopping Centre introduces new designer brand retailers and reveals a luxurious, sophisticated shopping experience, further reinforcing its positioning as a world-class shopping destination.

Through a comprehensive interior redesign, Markville now boasts common areas with sleek, architectural details, new lighting and soaring skylights; a sweeping, curved staircase creating a more dramatic atmosphere. An impressive 180,000 square feet of high-quality flooring material provide a refined look within the common areas, and 12,000 linear feet of new glass handrails enhance the openness of the entire space.

A newly-launched Express Eatery offers a redefined dining experience and is home to new quick-service restaurants such as Swiss Chalet and Jimmy the Greek. JOEY Restaurant, known for its unrivalled casual fine-dining experience, will be opening its doors in early November, making Markville the restaurant's fourth Ontario location. During the warm months, shoppers will also enjoy "al fresco" patio-style seating.

"We are proud to be an integral part of Markham - one of Canada's fastest-growing, cosmopolitan communities," said Kelly Vieira, General Manager, Markville Shopping Centre. "This project has been an exciting time for all of us and we are pleased to continue to meet, and surpass, the expectations of our guests, and our community."

With over 250,000 square feet of commercial space re-merchandized with high-end brand-names, Markville has welcomed Zara, Zara Kids, J. Crew, Michael Kors, Coach, Loft, Aritzia, Express, Sephora, Little Burgundy and Browns, with Victoria's Secret and PINK opening soon.

To celebrate the re-launch of the new Markville, the Centre is partnering with Flare Magazine to bring to shoppers a series of two events. Kicking off on Wednesday, September 25, the Flare Trends Runway Event will present fall trends from Markville retailers, as seen on the world runways. On Saturday, September 28, shoppers will be welcome to attend the Flare Trends Shopping Event - a day of custom style consultations from a Flare stylist, makeovers, as well as exclusive in-store offers.
