Account Executives Named to Sales and Catering Staff

TULSA, OK--(Marketwire - Jul 28, 2011) - Two new account executives have been named to the staff at the Tulsa Marriott Southern Hills, one of the premier hotels in Tulsa, OK, assuming positions in the hotel's sales and catering departments.

New Sales Executive Dana Kempker Steps to Other Side of Conference Platform

As a sales account executive at one of the leading hotels near University of Tulsa, Kempker will be focusing her efforts on the needs of non-profit, fraternal and educational organizations wishing to host their events in Tulsa.

A graduate of Iowa State University in Ames, where she studied advertising and sociology, Kempker comes to Tulsa after working as an assistant director of conferences for Solution Tree, an educational publishing company. Working with hotels and convention centers across the United States and Canada as a client, her position at the Southern Hills Marriott puts her on the other side of the conferencing platform where she plans to use her experience to better assist conference clients in the Tulsa area.

"It was a great experience that allowed me to see many beautiful parts of the country and grow both personally and professionally," said Kempker of her time with Solution Tree, which included planning events for up to 2,500 attendees, managing a team of event coordinators, creating and implementing marketing plans and managing department budgets.

Catering Executive Krystal Burt Shares Passion for Weddings, Special Events

Assuming the position of catering account executive, Krystal Burt will be focusing her efforts on the Tulsa, OK hotel's weddings and special events. A recent graduate of the Hotel and Restaurant Administration program at Oklahoma State University, Burt completed an internship with the Oklahoma City Convention and Visitor's Bureau, as well as one in hotel sales, which strengthened her desire to work within the hotel industry and uncovered her passion for weddings and special events.

"I am beyond grateful for this amazing opportunity to work with the brides and special events groups of Tulsa," said Burt, who during her time at OSU experienced leadership roles that allowed her to develop both personally and professionally. Burt, an active member of the Oklahoma Chapter of Meeting Professionals International and a new member of the Tulsa Wedding Merchants Group, resides in the Tulsa metro along with her husband and their two children.
