Marshall Cavendish Education Announces Webinars Focused on Implementing Common Core in Pennsylvania

TARRYTOWN, NY--(Marketwired - October 03, 2013) - Marshall Cavendish Education, a global provider of holistic educational curricula and co-developer of the Singapore Approach, announced Thursday it will host two webinars this month to share best practices for implementing the Common Core State Standards in Pennsylvania.

"The Common Core State Standards represent a paradigm shift in what students must learn and how educators must teach," said Chris Coyne, senior education consultant at Marshall Cavendish Education and a veteran teacher and principal. "The Singapore Approach highly influenced the development of the Common Core, and we are working with teachers across the country to bring that pedagogy into the classroom as the standards are implemented."

For the past two decades, Singapore has been consistently one of the top performing nations in elementary mathematics. International research confirms that Singapore's elementary mathematics curriculum is of the highest quality. The Common Core State Standards for mathematics parallel Singapore's curriculum as a model for elementary math.

Marshall Cavendish Education's upcoming professional development sessions will focus on unique and engaging teaching strategies to enhance any existing math curriculum and assist implementation of the Common Core State Standards for math.
