Mary Kay Honours International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women With Orange Lip Colour

MISSISSAUGA, ON--(Marketwired - November 25, 2014) - To honour the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Mary Kay Cosmetics Ltd. is reaching out to key media and influencers by encouraging them to wear "Orange You Lovely" At Play® Triple Layer Tinted Lip Balm in support of women and children who have been impacted by domestic violence. This directly ties into the United Nations Secretary-General's Campaign UNiTE to End Violence against Women by encouraging everyone to "Orange YOUR Neighbourhood" between November 25th and December 10th, 2014. The Company will also support and raise awareness for this initiative through its social media outlets.

This is just part of the good that Mary Kay Cosmetics does to help women. Each year, the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation donates $10,000 to a women's shelter or outreach program in many of the provinces and territories across Canada. In addition to this, the Company also runs a global cause-related marketing program called Beauty That Counts®, where millions of dollars are donated from the sale of limited-edition products to organizations that change the lives of women and children.

Mary Kay has long recognized the importance of bringing an end to domestic violence through advocacy, education and prevention programs. Both the Beauty That Counts® program and the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation are supported by hundreds of Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants and their customers, as well as by Mary Kay Cosmetics Ltd., and are an important part of the legacy of Mary Kay Ash.

About The Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation

The Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation was established in Canada in 2001, and its mission is two-fold: to support women living with cancer through the Look Good Feel Better® program and to help end violence against women by providing grants to women's shelters and community outreach programs. Since then, it has awarded over $1,051,000 to shelters and programs addressing domestic violence and $534,000 to help women going through cancer treatment throughout Canada. From every dollar raised, 97 cents goes to these two important causes. To learn more about The Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation, visit www.marykay.ca.
