Mass Save(R) Honored for Outstanding Achievement in Marketing Communications

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - February 14, 2011) - Mass Save®, an initiative sponsored by Massachusetts' gas and electric utilities and energy efficiency service providers, was honored by the Association of Energy Service Professionals (AESP) with the 2011 Energy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Marketing Communications at AESP's National Conference in Orlando, Florida, on January 18.

The integrated marketing and media campaign positioned Mass Save as a force in mobilizing Massachusetts residents and businesses to strive for greater energy efficiency, with all communications driving to the Mass Save website, www.masssave.com. Through partnerships with WEEI, home of the Red Sox Radio Network, and Comcast Cable/HGTV's Green Home Giveaway, as well as innovative online advertising and recognition events, the Mass Save campaign delivered effective consumer engagement and created greater awareness of the importance of energy efficiency and conservation.

"We are thrilled to win the AESP outstanding achievement in marketing communications award," said Becky Scott, Energy Efficiency Program Specialist at Unitil, one of the Mass Save program sponsors. "Educating residents and businesses about energy efficiency and increasing awareness of the various Mass Save programs, rebates, and incentives is of the utmost importance for Massachusetts gas and electric utilities and energy efficiency service providers. Receiving the AESP award is a reflection of the hard work and coordination that has gone into making Mass Save a great success." The Mass Save campaign was selected by AESP for its annual marketing communications award for achieving key program objectives, demonstrating an outstanding commitment to the advancement of the energy services field, and for representing "best in class" in the design, implementation and evaluation of an energy services program.

Trish Walker of New England Gas, a Mass Save sponsor, was on hand at the AESP National Conference to accept this award on behalf of Mass Save.
