Massive Sulphides, New Drill Target on Callinan's Thompson Properties

Massive Sulphides, New Drill Target on Callinan's Thompson Properties

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 25, 2005) - Callinan Mines
Limited ("the Company") (TSX VENTURE:CAA) reports:

Callinan's winter exploration program on its Thompson Nickel Belt properties
is proceeding on schedule and on budget. The second drill hole has a wide
intercept of black peridotite with sections of disseminated sulphides. The
holes have been followed up by a down hole pulse EM probe. The report by
Crone Geophysics of Mississauga, Ontario has interpreted that a strong off-
hole conductor represents an "extremely attractive target for future
exploration". Callinan plans to test this target this winter season.

The first hole of the Callinan's drill program on the Pine Claims on Setting
Lake has been completed. Drill core containing sections of massive sulphides
will be sent for assay to determine its value. Two more holes are planned for
this program as well as down hole pulse EM probes to determine if there are
further untested targets on the site.

A drill has been mobilized to Callinan's claims in the Fox River area of
Manitoba to test three separate anomalies. The claims are subject to a joint
venture agreement with Bell Resources Corp.

Pat Deveaux, PGeo., is the qualified person and supervisor for all the work
programs referred to herein.
