MATECH to Perform EFS Testing for Renowned Engineering Consulting Firm Pennoni Associates and Drexel University

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - October 7, 2009) - MATECH Corp. (OTCBB: MTCH) (www.matechcorp.com) is pleased to announce that it will perform advanced crack detection services using its revolutionary Electrochemical Fatigue Sensor (EFS) System on two significant bridges in New Jersey. MATECH's EFS has proven its efficacy on 35 highway bridges in 10 states, as well as several railroad bridges across the country.

During this significant bridge inspection project, Pennoni Associates, the subcontractor in charge of the overall inspections on these bridges, will provide access to the bridge members that are to be studied and tested. Drexel University, a leading university and a major center of bridge design and analysis, will work closely with MATECH on the EFS inspection.

Pennoni Associates, established in 1966, is a full-service consulting engineering firm, focusing on the coordination and design of civil infrastructure systems. The company provides various services to a diverse base of clients including structural design, land surveying, water supply and distribution, and wastewater collection and conveyance, among other services.

Drexel University was founded in 1891 as the Drexel Institute of Art, Science and Industry by Philadelphia financier and philanthropist Antony J. Drexel. The school became the Drexel Institute of Technology in 1936, and in 1970 Drexel Institute of Technology gained university status, becoming Drexel University. Drexel has been ranked consistently among the "Best National Universities-Top Schools" by U.S. News & World Report in its annual "America's Best Colleges."

"We are pleased to be working in coordination with Pennoni Associates and Drexel University, and expect to begin testing in the near future," said Robert Bernstein, CEO of MATECH. "This represents yet another example of leading engineering firms as well as prestigious universities recognizing the value and potential of our EFS technology."
