Matricis Acquires Montreal Firm PARA9

PARA9 joins the Matricis team to offer clients a more complete range of services

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - May 7, 2013) - Matricis Informatique Inc., a consulting firm that helps companies improve their e-business processing with integration technologies, announced that it has acquired PARA9, a Montreal-based company recognized for its expertise and creativity in the development of mobile applications.

With this acquisition, Matricis adds a user experience component to its offering of solutions related to business process management (BPM), application integration, cloud computing as well as management and virtualization. It also enables Matricis to penetrate the mobile development market and consolidate its web development expertise.

Concretely, Matricis can now better meet the needs of a growing number of clients for whom user experience is increasingly important. "PARA9's expertise perfectly complements what we do at Matricis. Together, we can offer a wider range of services allowing users to validate and more clearly understand the added value of our solutions on a daily basis," says François Beaubien, President of Matricis.

Furthermore, Matricis is now even better positioned to serve clients in the health, government and industrial sectors. The company already has a strong presence in these sectors and sees major potential for mobile development over the coming years. In fact, the combined expertise of Matricis and PARA9 will benefit clients in many ways. For example, in the health sector, clinicians could see their workflow optimized with tools based on new mobile technologies. This development could generate greater efficiency in the overall health system, which would, in turn, lead to better delivery of services for staff and patients.

"By joining the Matricis team, we can continue to develop high-quality mobile applications for major clients," explains PARA9 co-founder Trân-Quân Luong, who will be the director of the user experience group at Matricis.

This acquisition will also allow Matricis to take on development for the iOS platform and pursue new opportunities offered by the Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 platforms.
