Mattson Releases 200MM Helios XP as Part of a Suite of New Services Focused on Internet of Things IC Production

FREMONT, CA--(Marketwired - March 15, 2016) - Mattson™ Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: MTSN), a leading supplier of advanced wafer fabrication equipment is beginning to roll out a suite of products and services supporting the growth of Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Business from our 200mm and smaller wafer fab installed base of tools has grown over 20% this past year. "Mattson's release of new support services and upgrades focused on increasing our 200mm equipment productivity has driven our growth," stated M.K. Han, Vice President of Mattson's Support Products Group. "With the growing market for IoT devices driving the demands for integrated circuits produced in 200mm tools, equipment suppliers must focus on developing products to both extend the useful lifecycle of existing systems and refresh their tools' configurations in 200mm new systems," added Han.

An example of Mattson bringing leading edge technology to the IoT IC makers is the release of the 200mm Helios® XP that provides the capability of the company's most advanced 300mm conventional RTP system to 200mm fabs. "At the end of last year, we delivered, installed and completed production qualification of our first 200mm Helios XP at a customer currently using Mattson's older RTP systems," said Johannes Keppler, Vice President and General Manager of Mattson's Thermal Products Group. "Working closely with the customer, it was determined that the increased throughput and more advanced processing capabilities of a new system provided higher productivity value than purchasing a refurbished legacy system," added Keppler.
