Mattson's Millios™ Millisecond Anneal Systems Continue Market Acceptance With Shipments Over the Past Six Quarters

FREMONT, CA--(Marketwired - July 14, 2015) - Mattson Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: MTSN), a leading supplier of advanced wafer fabrication equipment used by semiconductor manufacturers, stated its Millios, millisecond anneal (MSA) systems have been shipped to multiple customers' advanced foundry / logic production sites over the past six consecutive quarters. This consistency in system shipments is the result of the market acceptance of the Millios as a primary production system for technology nodes at 20 nanometer and below.

Utilizing Mattson's proprietary arc lamp technology, Millios systems have now been supporting leading-edge semiconductor production for over one year. The unique processing capabilities of the Millios arc lamp provide electrical device results that our customers consider advantageous over the performance of other MSA technologies. In addition, the Millios continues to achieve industry leading productivity with high levels of throughput and uptime required for volume production.

"The leading edge electrical device performance and high productivity of the Millios when compared to other MSA technologies remain the primary factors for our customers' choice in MSA technologies," stated Johannes Keppler, Vice President and General Manager of Mattson Technology's Thermal Products Group. "In addition to the production systems we have been shipping, there are Millios systems running advanced technology node development in R&D facilities, enabling our customers to place continued confidence in Mattson's MSA technology," added Keppler.
