CALGARY, AB--(Marketwired - January 21, 2016) - Mawer Investment Management Ltd. (MIML) announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Mawer Investment Management Singapore Pte. Ltd. (MIMS) has been granted a Capital Market License by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and will become operational in January 2016. The Singapore office will allow Mawer to further expand its research and trading activities on a global basis.
Three individuals from MIML's Calgary office will be transferring to MIMS effective early 2016:
- Paul Moroz, Deputy Chief Investment Officer
- Peter Dmytruk, Equity Trader
- Ong (Apichet) Kiatworakun, Equity Analyst (subject to receiving an employment pass)
Their relocation will provide enhanced research and trading opportunities due to closer proximity to Asian companies and a compatible time zone. All three individuals will continue to operate as part of an integrated global research team at MIML.
Mawer Investment Management Ltd. will remain lead investment manager for the Mawer Mutual Funds and other client accounts managed by MIML, and will retain MIMS as a sub-advisor to assist MIML in carrying out its duties.
