Mawer Investment Management Ltd. Proposes Adopting an Updated Declaration of Trust and Trust Agreement for Its Mutual Funds and Modifying Investment Objectives of Certain Funds

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - May 3, 2013) - Mawer Investment Management Ltd. ("Mawer") announced today proposals to amend the trust documents of the Mawer Mutual Funds and to modify the investment objectives of certain Mawer Mutual Funds.

Mawer proposes to amend and restate the Declaration of Trust and Trust Agreement for the Mawer Mutual Funds in the form of one master Amended and Restated Trust Agreement, to update and simplify the administration of the Funds.

In addition, Mawer intends to modify the investment objectives of

• the Mawer Canadian Money Market Fund to reflect recent amendments to the money market fund investment restrictions in National Instrument 81-102 Mutual Funds, and
  
  
• the Mawer Canadian Bond Fund to better describe its return expectations, and
  
  
• the Mawer Balanced Fund, Mawer Tax Effective Balanced Fund, Mawer Canadian Equity Fund, Mawer New Canada Fund, Mawer U.S. Equity Fund, Mawer International Equity Fund, Mawer Global Small Cap Fund and Mawer Global Equity Fund to clarify that the funds may be invested in equity-related securities in addition to traditional equity securities such as common shares and preferred shares, and to ensure that the funds' return objectives are described consistently among Mawer's equity and balanced funds.
  
  

Special meetings of the unitholders of the Mawer Mutual Funds will be held on or about June 20, 2013. If approved, the proposed changes to the investment objectives and Amended and Restated Trust Agreement will be effective on or about June 27, 2013.
