Mawson West Announces Appointment of New Non-Executive Director

PERTH, AUSTRALIA and TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 2, 2012) - Mawson West Ltd. (TSX:MWE) ("Mawson" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Philippe Monier to the Board of Directors.

Philippe Monier has over 25 years of corporate and international finance experience, including a number of years in the mining and minerals sectors. He received his MBA from the London Business School and graduated in economics, finance and accounting from the École Supérieure de Commerce de Tours - Poitiers, France. Prior to joining Mawson's board, Mr. Monier held previous CFO positions with Anvil Mining, Bateman Engineering, Dynatec and BHP Billiton Base Metals. His experience also includes nine years of investment banking with Lehman Brothers' Natural Resources Group.
