Maxim Group LLC Attracts More Senior Level Talent for Its Equity Capital Markets Platform

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Oct 11, 2011) - Maxim Group LLC, a leading full service investment banking, securities and wealth management firm, announced the enhancement of its Equity Capital Markets platform through the appointment of five senior executives: Alessandro Profita, Dirk van Erp, John-Paul Cirigliano, Dennis Nitka and Josh Levy. Alessandro Profita was named Head of International Sales & Trading and will be responsible for expanding the Firm's products and services throughout Europe. Prior to joining Maxim Group, Mr. Profita was the Head of US Equity Sales at ESN North America. Previously, he held similar positions with Gruppo Banca Popolare di Milano, Banca Gesfid-Switzerland and Intesa San Paolo Imi Group-Italy from 1997-present.

Dirk van Erp was appointed Senior Vice President-Institutional Equity Sales and will be responsible for expanding the Firm's sales coverage to west coast institutions. Prior to joining Maxim Group, Mr. van Erp was a Senior Vice President with Duncan-Williams, Inc. based in San Francisco, CA. Previously, he held similar positions with Insight Capital Research and Management, Suntrust Robinson Humphrey, Janny Montgomery Scott, FTN Midwest Research and Morgan Stanley. Mr. van Erp received a B.S. in Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis.

John-Paul Cirigliano was appointed Senior Vice President-Institutional Sales Trading and will provide sales trading coverage for middle market accounts focusing on single stock, programs, swaps and equity derivatives. Prior to joining Maxim Group, Mr. Cirigliano was a Team Partner on the Liquid Markets Equity Sales Trading desk of Barclays Capital. Previously, he held similar positions at Lehman Brothers and Chapdelaine Corp Securities, Inc. Mr. Cirigliano received a B.A. in Economics from St. John's University.

Dennis Nitka was appointed Senior Vice President-Institutional Sales Trading. Prior to joining Maxim Group, Mr. Nitka was the Head Trader for 11:11 Capital -- an external exclusive fund for Millennium Management where he traded a dynamic worldwide long short book encompassing macro and healthcare. Previously he held similar positions with Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch and Farina & Associates. Mr. Nitka received a B.A. in Political Science from Loyola College.

Josh Levy was appointed Senior Vice President-Institutional Sales Trading. Prior to joining Maxim Group, Mr. Levy was a Managing Director at ICAP. Previously, he held similar positions at Tullet Liberty, GFI and Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. Mr. Levy received a B.S. in Finance from The University of Florida.
