Maximum and Entertainment One Close Multi-Picture Deal for Co-Distribution in Canada of Features From Magnolia Pictures and HDNet Films

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 5, 2007) -

Attention: Entertainment Editors

Seville Entertainment a subsidiary of Entertainment One (LSE:ETO) and Maximum Films have reached a multi-picture agreement with Magnolia Pictures and HDNet Films which provides for their joint acquisition of Canadian rights to a slate of feature films. Amongst the films are: FLAWLESS starring multiple Academy Award® winner and nominee Michael Caine (THE CIDER HOUSE RULES, HANNAH AND HER SISTERS, THE QUIET AMERICAN) and Golden Globe nominee Demi Moore (IF THESE WALLS COULD TALK, GHOST); legendary filmmaker Brian De Palma's much anticipated feature REDACTED; and Emmy Award winning producer Graydon Carter's documentary, SURFWISE. The two Canadian theatrical distributors will co-distribute the films throughout Canada in all media.

In announcing the agreement, Maximum Films chairman Robert Lantos said, "Films of quality and originality are the ones that interest and inspire me. So I look forward to working with Magnolia and HDNet Films whose vision is so clearly consistent with my own."

"This arrangement makes good business sense. I am thrilled that we are acquiring these films from Magnolia/HDNet as it extends a great partnership with Magnolia with whom we had a growing relationship with" said Seville Co-President David Reckziegel.

President of Entertainment One Patrice Theroux added, "I'm also excited to have the opportunity to collaborate again with Robert in acquiring these films with Maximum given we worked together for over 10 years at Alliance. We all hope that this deal will be another stepping stone to a promising future."

FLAWLESS stars Academy Award® winner and nominee Michael Caine (THE CIDER HOUSE RULES, HANNAH AND HER SISTERS, THE QUIET AMERICAN) and Golden Globe nominee Demi Moore (IF THESE WALLS COULD TALK, GHOST) as a janitor and a frustrated American executive who conspire to relieve their employer of a priceless inventory of jewels. Directed by Academy Award® and BAFTA winner Michael Radford (IL POSTINO) and produced by Michael Pierce and Mark Williams, the Edward Anderson script is set in London and loosely based on an actual 1960's heist.

Celebrated and iconic filmmaker Brian De Palma's Iraq war drama, REDACTED tells the story of American soldiers caught in a conflict in the ancient city of Samarra. Inspired by real events, it examines the contrasting viewpoints of the Americans and Iraqis, as well as the media covering the clash. Shot on location in Jordan in English, French and Arabic, REDACTED premiered in Venice and will have its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Lastly, SURFWISE, a portrait of legendary Malibu surfer Dorian "Doc" Paskowitz, who introduced the sport to Israel in the 1960s, is produced by Emmy Award winning Graydon Carter (9/11) and critically acclaimed director Doug Pray. The documentary will make its World Premiere in Real to Reel at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The package was negotiated by Maximum General Counsel Mark Musselman and Theroux along with Laird Adamson and Jeff Cuban for HDNet/Magnolia.
