McAfee and Invincea to Collaborate in Bringing Invincea Malware Detection, Prevention and Forensic Analysis Technology to Commercial and DoD Clients

Invincea Integrates Its Award-Winning Solutions With the McAfee Security Management Platform

FAIRFAX, VA and SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - Feb 29, 2012) - Invincea, Inc., an innovator in advanced malware threat detection, end-user threat protection, and pre-breach forensic analysis, announced today at the RSA 2012 Security Conference that it has completed the integration of Invincea™ BrowserProtection and Invincea™ DocumentProtection with McAfee® ePolicy Orchestrator® (McAfee ePO™) software. Invincea's security platform employs virtualization to prevent the theft of intellectual property, government and trade secrets, and financial fraud by protecting end-users against spear phishing and web-based threats, including those driven by zero-day malware. Invincea has also signed a Sales Teaming Agreement with McAfee. Under the terms of this agreement, McAfee and Invincea will collaborate to promote the joint solution across all U.S. commercial markets, the U.S. Department of Defense, and Federal sectors.

Invincea's innovative use of virtualization creates a protective "bubble" around all untrusted content coming through web browsers, PDF readers, the Microsoft Office suite, .zip files, and .exes -- among the largest set of attack vectors -- to protect users against known and zero-day malware delivered via spear phishing, drive-by infections, legitimate sites that have been compromised, fake anti-virus, and other online threats. By placing all untrusted content into a fully virtualized environment separate from the desktop operating system, Invincea has created an enterprise "airlock" that seals the potential attack vector off from infecting the desktop system and the enterprise network. Using behavioral-based detection, Invincea is able to detect all malicious activity -- including zero-day exploits -- within this contained environment. At the point of detection, Invincea automatically blocks malicious activity from the virtual machine and provides threat visibility directly to McAfee ePO software dashboards, extending the capabilities of currently deployed McAfee solutions.

"The market need for the type of attack resiliency that Invincea provides has put us on an explosive growth path," said Anup Ghosh, Founder and CEO of Invincea. "On the heels of a new round of funding and expansion of our own sales team, we needed to rapidly extend our reach and ability to scale with a strategic partner. McAfee's resources, leadership and focus are unparalleled in the marketplace and exactly what we need to reach the organizations which can benefit from our capabilities."

Invincea's innovative approach to malware blocking and intelligence collection provide an ideal complement to McAfee's endpoint protection and compliance management solutions, which are managed through McAfee ePO software. As the end-user continues to be a primary target and vector of entry for adversaries into the enterprise, Invincea's innovative security platform protects the enterprise by protecting the end-user and leveraging the attack behavior analytics to inform other enterprise security controls.

"McAfee is always looking for complementary technologies that integrate with and extend our world class solutions, and that help our customers gain an edge in their security posture with innovative approaches to protection," said Ed Barry, Vice President of the McAfee Security Innovation Alliance. "Invincea's approach to protecting users against zero-day attacks is a great example of the innovation McAfee looks to deliver joint solutions with."
