McEwen Capital: Court Denies Goldcorp Vote

THANK YOU TO ALL SHAREHOLDERS WHO GAVE SUPPORT!

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 3, 2006) - ROB MCEWEN, GOLDCORP'S LARGEST INDIVIDUAL SHAREHOLDER, announced today that the Divisional Court of Appeal has denied his request for a compliance order against Goldcorp, to hold a shareholders vote on the proposed Glamis transaction.

"I read the Court decision then e-mailed Ian Telfer to say: Ian, Congratulations on your win. Now make this purchase work for the shareholders. Rob.

I want to express my sincere thanks to all Goldcorp shareholders that lent their support! The decision by the Court is disappointing, but I believe our efforts have highlighted a serious flaw within the Canadian equities market where a Board has the sole discretion to enter into large and highly dilutive transaction without consulting its shareholders. Hopefully this problem will be addressed in the near future by the Toronto Stock Exchange and the provincial securities commissions. It is time Canada provided shareholders with fundamental rights that are standard throughout the world," said Rob McEwen.
